Description
Vintage hand crafted silver Plique-à-jour enamel brooch in the form of a cat playing with ball which is a round fresh water pearl. Cat’s body is decorated with diamonds and gemstones. The collar features 7 small diamonds, the pearl ball is surrounded by 6 green stones which appear to be tourmaline or zircon. Eyes are also made of green gemstone, slightly larger. There is a chance the green stones could be emerald, but hard to measure and the reading is inconclusive. There are copies of this brooch out there with rhinestones. This we believe, is one of the original ones as it came out of a 1970s collection.
Silver is left in original colour on the front of the brooch, and gold plated on the reverse.
In very good condition with only minor signs of age.
