Vintage Handbag Shaped Compact Mirror by Mascot, Made in England, 1950s

Collectible vintage compact case by Mascot in the shape of a miniature handbag, made of gold tone metal with engine turned details in classic deco style. It has a hinged lid with snap closure, and gilt interior.
The compact opens by gently pushing the top handle backwards, which then reveals a mirror inside one lid, and the powder-well door in the other. A small rectangular panel on the front of the case is left blank for optional engraving.
In very good condition with minor signs of age and use. The interior is very clean, and both outer and interior lids have a strong clasp closing action. Comes with the sifter.
Measures 7.5 cm x 6.5 cm

Marked with ‘Made in Great Britain’ underneath the mirror.
Mascot’s crown symbol is embossed onto the powder door.
